Local West Bridgford Brownies thank Lettings Assistant Manager Frances Longhurst for 25 years of Support!

Local Brownies in West Bridgford have recently thanked Frances, for all her time and support over the last 25 years.  Frances has supported West Bridgford Girlguiding since the tender age of 16. She first volunteered with Girlguiding as a young leader with 6th West Bridgford (Friary) Guides and later took over as Guide Captain at this unit.

During the last 10 years Frances has been been a Brownie Leader at the 6th West Bridgford (Friary) Brownies.  Having dedicated her time to the West Bridgford Guiding throughout her adult life Frances has decided to take a break but will be still be returning to help local groups in the future.

Talking to Frances about her time with the Guides, she was very keen to let us know that she really enjoyed her years with the local Guides and Brownies, she said "the girls are fantastic and a joy to be with! It has been lovely seeing them learn and grow and I have had the pleasure of seeing hundreds of girls go through Guiding – some of them from Brownies right through Guiding to leadership roles.  It’s especially rewarding to see the girls getting involved in things that help the whole community from litter picking to learning first aid and raising funds for good causes."

Frances has very effectively roped other members of the Royston & Lund Lettings team (Gaynor and Sarah) into helping at the Brownies and has also gained financial support from Royston & Lund!

Frances is now looking for new volunteers to take over the running of the unit. If you are interested in volunteering with Girlguiding in any way then please email Frances at [email protected].
