Christmas Lights Switch On – £550 raised for the Friary to boost the charity’s Community Crisis Appeal

On Saturday 2nd December we were delighted to be the proud sponsors of West Bridgford’s Christmas Lights Switch On.  There was a huge amount happening on the day with entertainment including a mini ice rink and fairground at Central Avenue and Gordon Square; this was in addition to the Santa’s Grotto and festive market, all of which was followed by a fantastic firework finale!

We took the opportunity to raise money for local charity The Friary and our mulled wine and mince pie sale proved to be a sell out!  With the help of the fantastic local community, we managed to raise a huge £550 for this fantastic cause; the Friary based on Musters Road helps homeless and vulnerable adults to rebuild their lives by offering practical services, advice and emotional support.

We are also still collecting winter coats on behalf of the Friary so feel free to bring any unwanted warm coats in good condition in to us and will then ensure they all get passed on.
